The 7146 is designed to monitor the temperature of recirculating bypass water. When the water reaches the valve's 130°F temperature setting, the valve releases a portion of the overheated liquid through its bleed port, helping reduce heat accumulation before it can damage the pump. This makes it particularly useful for pressure-washing systems that may operate in bypass for extended periods.

Built from durable brass, the CAT Pumps 7146 features a 1/4" NPT male inlet connection and a 1/8" NPT female bleed port. It is rated for up to 25 GPM and a maximum inlet pressure of 125 PSI, making it suitable for a wide range of portable and commercial high-pressure wash applications.

The valve is designed for systems using an unloader or regulator and automatically seats during pressure spikes to help prevent unnecessary liquid bleeding. Because a pressurized pump inlet is required, proper installation within the bypass system is important.
